God has the world under control, in his hands. Yet he allows each of us to respond to him according to what we choose. This week’s posts help each of us choose wisely. Which one has meant the most to you?

March 22
Often we think we have our hands around a situation, but time and time again we discover that no matter how smart, strong, or rich we might be, things slip out of our hands and our control. When we lose hold of our life, when our attempted solutions fall through our fingers, it is good to know Someone has everything in his hands.

I don’t know who you will encounter today. I don’t know who God will put in my path, either. Whoever it is, I hope we can engage in conversation that doesn’t include judgment but instead creates curiosity, even thirst, for the one who has given us forgiveness of sin and abundant life.

…the hearing of words has the power to change brain behavior, resulting in both situational stress and long-term anxiety. Having Aaron declare God’s blessing audibly, then, would not only bring God’s favor, it would also reduce the anxiety of his children and give them a reminder of his hope.

… if we are not diligent in our determination to lean on God and live in his promises, we can easily get stuck in a self-destructive cycle of negativity. Before we know it, we start carrying burdens that are not ours to carry and assigning blame to others and to God for problems they aren’t actually responsible for.

Great armies, great warriors, and great equipment won’t save us. Only the Lord is worthy of our trust. Only discovering and practicing righteousness will bring blessing. And only waiting on God will bring ultimate victory both here and now and for eternity.
