When we read Scripture, we must be careful not to base our understanding on just one verse or one passage.

Seasons of loss and devastation can leave us feeling overwhelmed, whether we are rebuilding after a personal setback, a health crisis, a broken relationship, or a major life disruption.

Nehemiah’s first response was not anger, fear, or retaliation. He prayed. Throughout the conflict, he continued to seek God’s help, make wise plans, and trust the Lord to fight the battle.

Nehemiah took all those steps, and it wasn't easy. He had opposition. Not everyone got into his plan. But he never lost faith.

David’s life reminds us that following God does not remove life’s storms, but it does give us a refuge within them. Even in fear and uncertainty, we can choose worship and trust in God’s faithfulness.

When God reveals a need, He’s also inviting you into His work. Let’s be people whose hearts break for what breaks His—and whose hands are ready to join Him in building something lasting.
