Ecclesiastes reminds us that life is brief—a vapor, or hevel—but not meaningless. When we understand our time in light of eternity, we see that our choices and actions deeply matter within God’s sovereign plan.

Despite the time, energy, and money we give to choosing and announcing names, this only hints at why God thinks your name is important.

The Preacher of Ecclesiastes knows something about the issues that arise when people get too worried about money. In our present economic condition, perhaps we all need the reminder that this ancient Preacher provides in Ecclesiastes 5:10-15.
