Haggai reminded weary builders that the future temple’s glory would surpass the former—and he was pointing to Jesus, the true temple of God. The same is true for us: when we can’t see past the struggle, God is preparing something far greater than we imagine.

Just as Isaiah was cleansed and called, and Peter was humbled and commissioned, we too are invited to respond with surrender and obedience.

Just as Moses was punished for not honoring God’s command, we must remember that it is not our place to define or execute justice but to trust God’s timing and sovereignty.

The problem is the pull or drift toward wanting to get a little glory because once we get it, we almost always want a little more, and the pursuit of this glory is hard to cut off or stop.

Our obedience matters.
