We sometimes forget that Jesus felt many of the same emotions. Maybe he felt some of the joy and excitement of Palm Sunday, but the reality hit on Monday when he walked into the temple and confronted how little spiritual intensity was there.

There is much to think about this Holy Week. Today I am struck by the conversation of Jesus with Pilate.

He rode into Jerusalem on a donkey. A donkey! What message does that send to us today? Do we understand his message any better than those who saw him that day?

I hear the children praising him and see the religious leaders opposing him, and I stop to wonder, Which group am I more like?
