Unlike earthly kings who crave power, our King bends His ear to our cries. He rules with majesty and responds with love, guiding us through both strength and tenderness.

God offered hope beyond human help. Hezekiah showed good leadership, but only Jesus is our true shelter. We wait for His return, living by His ways through the Spirit.

Despite their mistake in choosing a king, Israel had the chance to make good from their decision by remaining faithful to God, a lesson that applies to all believers who are called to walk in obedience.

As we celebrate the birth of Jesus and await His return, we can relate to the Israelites’ longing for deliverance and the sense of waiting that often makes our hope feel distant, yet we know Jesus will return to restore all things.

What an amazing Savior and King we have! We can sing “What a Friend We Have in Jesus” and sense his closeness or listen to “A Mighty Fortress Is Our God” and imagine the strength and power of Almighty God.

He rode into Jerusalem on a donkey. A donkey! What message does that send to us today? Do we understand his message any better than those who saw him that day?
