A Prayer for the Day of Waiting

Dear Father, we confess that we do not like seasons of waiting. Waiting for the test results, waiting for a loved one to return, waiting for the letter of acceptance, and sometimes just waiting in line tends to frustrate us. Forgive our impatience that is often rooted in our selfishness and pride. Today, we choose to be aware of the silence of the day in between the death of our king and his resurrection. Today, our waiting is with anticipation because we know the truth and the truth has set us free. So we wait eagerly because we know you, we love you, and we know that the event we celebrate tomorrow is our victory not only for a day but rather for eternity.  Come Lord Jesus, Amen.
